JUBILEE SNUB?
The local felney council are worried that not enough celebrations will take place in the village for the queens jubilee. In 1977 there where street parties and several other things but this year there may not be anything...
No applications for licensed street parties have been made yet,the council have been taking bookings readily but so far nobody has come forward despite a huge advertising campaign of one hand-written note on green paper displayed prominently in the bottom left-hand corner of the church notice board.
Despite this unfortunate situation,support for the queen remains at an all time high,with 50% of the people we interviewd saying they supported her majesty's reign. "She's an important figurehead" said jane braithwaite,of canon street. "She is an inspiration to the families of britian,her strengh and determination are incredible. And she worked hard to get to the top" when we commented the queen got there by inheritance jane replied "Oh,sorry,i thought you where talking about emma bunton",but we assumed her support extended to the queen also. However,not all residents of Felney share these views, another man we talked to, Mike smith of pork lane said "Who cares about that old biddy anyway,leave me alone you right wing tabloid neo-nazis". He then proceeded to try and start up a chainsaw so we decided it would be better if we left at that time.
Despite all this it is expected that private celebrations will continue,with one man named Aaron anderson saying "Well, the bloke i live with is even going so far as to make his own home made fireworks to celebrate". We dont know who exactly he lives with,and he said "Celebrate" in a strange,sarcastic way, but we think that just sums up the dedication to our monarch still visible in the village
