Capabilities: |
All components are fired from the same trigger, their mechanisms are activated and deactivated using the mode switches on the side, and further adjustments can be made with other switches below the small screen. The screen itself normally displays a graphic showing the mode, and the amount of ammo left. But in sniper mode it is used as a sight (a small camera in the front is connected). It can zoom in by up to 20x (high quality digital, virtually the same as optical but with less bulky lenses) and also display in night vision or heat vision. The screen itself can be folded down for stealth, but it also has special filters so while it seems bright if you are right near it and looking at it, from 1.5 metres away it can hardly be seen at all. The gun is protected against EMP and water, so the electrical controls that set the firing mechanism cannot be damaged. If they are however, the fully automatic mode using standard bullets can be set mechanically, so it will work with no electronic systems at all. Finally it has a mini USB port, meaning it can be plugged into any soldier's standard PDA, which displays what the screen displays, allowing it to be used to snipe without the soldier having to look over their cover at all. |

General Notes: |
This is again developed by Stealth Force, but this time is found by Steve Gunn and his unit on a routine patrol after they attack a convoy carrying it. They pick it up and return to their base with it. They get attacked on the way and Gunn's rifle is shot out of his hand, so he picks it up and helps fight off the enemy. At the base the top brass say its far too impractical and complicated to be put into mass production, and brush it aside. Gunn, however, takes it with him, and after putting a Wolf Force sticker on the side and getting the magazine slots updated to take Wolf Force ammunition, uses it himself. This was first designed just before Remake 1, but was a bit different (it still had a flamethrower, which was a huge component stuck to the side), by the time I actually did remake 1, it looked pretty much just like this. But where the mini camera is it had a "combat flare gun" which shot fireballs, like the mode on the flamethrower that Gunn used the most in the original stories. In the second re-make it was pretty much the same again. In re-make 3 the flare gun is taken out, making it into what you see here. A lot of armies give their soldiers assault rifles with attached Grenade launchers, this just takes it a stage further and completely integrates the grenade launcher. And also adds the high-power bullets for when faced with lightly armoured or distant targets, or stealth would be useful. |
