THE GUN - THE ORIGINAL VERSION
Book 6: Rig Blast
|
This story is a mere 4 pages long, and pretty confused, but very violent, probably the best "Deaths per panel" one there is. It starts with a boat called "Wolfblaze 2" sailing through the sea, it looks like a small battleship, with only one cannon and two decks. Inside someone is saying to Gunn that they replaced the grenades in his gun with a harpoon, which he never uses in the story, probably a sign that it was supposed to be longer, and more James bond-ey than it actually was. On the deck Gunn, a guy and Jackson (she's back again) are standing there, a guy says "Go!", so they do, swimming towards an Oil Rig. |

The ship fires its Cannon, blowing away something on the rig (dunno what), three people are in the explosion, and blood goes everywhere. Someone puts a bomb on the side of the rig, someone looks down and spots the bomb about to go off, he gets blown into the sky with blood going all over the place. Gunn leaps onto the rig and shoots someone who is standing on a barrel (like you do), the guy being hit seems to have no blood though… Gunn shoots at someone on the Rig's tower, but someone else on it fires a missile, which Gunn ducks, he shoots the guy with the rocket launcher in the head, who shoots upwards and blasts a hole in the level above him, ripping someone else down to a skeleton. Three more random people on the tower are hit (no blood again) by someone, all fly back in the same way and throw their guns up in the air in the same way. Following The Gun's tradition of people being armed with whatever weapon I felt like giving them, they have a pistol, shotgun and UZI between them. |

Jackson appears and asks if she missed anything, apparently she was setting charges on the Rig so it will be blown up… ever hear of capturing it to get oil? The three of them walk down some stairs into the innards of the rig. Gunn shoots a guy with a chainsaw (on an oil rig?), before throwing a grenade into the "Night operations brief room", where a guy with a black uniform gets blown up. (He had a black uniform because I drew the consoles in the background and left no room for people, so had to colour him in so that it didn't look like the computers went 'through' him. Gunn kicks in a wooden door that looks more like it belongs on a garden shed than an oil rig and sprays bullets into the room, hitting someone with a Minigun, who has another case of 'silly string blood'. A battered 'hostage' is on the floor in front of him, which gives the story a purpose I suppose. |

Outside an enemy helicopter is coming to land on the pad, when it is blasted out of the air by one of the 'Star destroyer' Queens from the previous story, which is now on Wolf Force's side (? I imagine it was captured). Either Gunn or the 'other guy' can be seen climbing a rope ladder up into it, when some guy comes along and starts shooting at them with a pistol that's loaded with Tracer bullets, the Queen flies away and the rig explodes, sending bits everywhere, er and that’s the end... |
