Lots of inspiration from the Doom Comic in evidence on this title page…

I was on the very tail end of being a "red" when I did this, it makes it sound like both armies are "rebels". The island looks a lot closer to how it does in the original The Gun, but at least this one doesn’t sink beneath the waves. I have no idea how those catapult-launched jets are supposed to land again… Maybe they’re VTOL.

The first apperance of Steve Gunn and the new The Gun. I remember this page looking awesome in colour (the coloured ones where lost in a crash, hence being bought to you in biro-tastic editions). In fact, if that crash hadn’t happened this may well have been the "definitive" version of The Gun after all!

A confusing sequence at the top of the page. The ship is where Gunn has flown from, the missile blowing away it’s control tower comes from the Fighters. The ship in this looks better than the one in the newer version XD. The rocket was to have been loaded with a zombie-creating fluid and fired at Britain.

The appearance of Sue Jackson, as a Corporal or Sergeant (in the original and in the new version her and Gunn are the same rank initially).

The zombie serum!, fortunatley a well-timed shelling makes the enemy officer drop it. I didn’t like the design of the soldier’s helmets, so just changed it. The new one she’s wearing is the "combat helmet". Presumably the other is the "dress helmet". The impracticalities of carrying two around remain unmentioned XD.
